I made my first ever properly multi-tiered cake today. It was a terrifying experience. (Also, what is with this trend of 1yo’s needing this much cake?????)
It’s approx 10” tall and weighs a freaking tonne.
(For my sanity, I haven’t edited all of these individually. I’ve only had four hours sleep in the last 48 hours, so you can just enjoy the mush of photos which I put together to upload to other sites, and one larger photo to marvel at how pretty they all are.)
Okay! So! My cousin turned 12 today, and she’s obsessed with One Direction. Specifically: Niall. So… I decided this cake was necessary. It looks awesome. I accidentally knocked off some of Niall’s and Harry’s hairs, and I don’t think the angle does Liam and Louis any justice - but trust me, they REALLY looked a lot like them.
So, Directioners… Enjoy. I hope I’ve not screwed up your favourite Boy’s face too much.
It’s my aunt’s birthday today, so I made her a coffee and walnut cake.
One of my mum’s neighbours, Shannon, asked me if I’d make her birthday cake. She said she wanted a Harry Potter themed cake, and gave me complete control over the design and ideas… and this happened.
It took 3 1/2 days to finish this cake, but gosh… I’m proud of the outcome. My least favourite part is the pixies, I’m not happy with how they came out and I decided against adding the third and final pixie because of how they were turning out. He was supposed to be sat next to Shannon on the broom, so that’s a shame.
Full view is best, to look at all the details! (Because I’m silly, I didn’t check to make sure my camera was on the best pixel size before shooting away, so sorry for any graininess in the photos!)
Here’s my brother’s birthday cake! It definitely won me the ‘Best Sister of the Year’ award. How? Well, let me tell you a story, a story from my childhood that inspired this cake…

I worked with one of my best friends to make her friend’s retro tea party themed birthday cake.
The Hogwarts Pride bunting was my (slightly tipsy while at a party) idea, and it came out really well!
