Hello, there! I'm Jess, and I enjoy baking and cake decorating. I've been baking seriously for a few years now, and I'm nearly entirely self-taught. (So many of my techniques are shabby and definitely NOT ot a professional standard!) I'm working hard to change that, though, and I'm keen to learn new things whenever I can.

The geek within me is responsible for the nerdy nature of many of the cakes I make - I can't help it, they're more fun to make!

If you've got any (constructive) criticisms, then you know where the ask box is. Don't be afraid of pointing something out, though. I spent a ridiculous amount of time studying Drama, I can handle it!

A woman called Samantha asked me to make her friend a rainbow cake for her birthday. This was the result, and they were all really pleased with it. Oh! The inside was a rainbow layer cake, too! 

Two days worth of work. So much effort, and there’s a lot I don’t like about how it came out… but I’m proud of it, especially considering that I’ve not baked this cake properly in about a year. 

Well… now I’ve shared… I better get started on all the cleaning up. D: 

SHERLOCK CUPCAKES. ENJOY. 

So my friend and I made these for our Sherlock marathon. I originally planned to make more different things (such as a pipe, Mycroft’s umbrella, something Moriarty-like) but these were difficult enough. This was my second time using modelling fondant, so I’m pretty proud of how these came out. :3 

John’s jumper didn’t come out that well, but I was creating it from memory and had NO idea how to make fondant look like wool… 

the urls on the pictures are more obtrusive than they looked in photoshop. Oops, oh well.

I want to make these again…. but with proper rainbow laces instead of the silly four coloured Tesco ones. 

Also pretty sure that I’ve posted this on Tumblr before. OH WELL it’s MY cupcake and I’ll do whatever the fuck I want to do with it.
